Motley is our pint sized traditional black tri, she is out of MISR Joaquin (ABCA435257) and MFR Jolene (ABCA446266). Motley comes from a long line of ranch and trialing cow dogs.
Motley is a pushy dog that likes things her way. She loves to work, she has nice style, and lovely natural instinct. She has a good off switch and is suitable in the home just laying around, relaxing. Motley has a low toy drive. Motley is very social and enjoys playing with other dogs and animals. Motley is a pushy dog and it takes some special and patient dogs to enjoy her company. She is neutral around dogs, cats, and people.
Motley has a pedigree with notable cow dogs. To name a few Oaktree Levi (ABCA347896) from Steve and Sheri Wight. Oaktree Levi is a phenomenal cow dog that is very accomplished and has produce many successful cow dogs (https://www.milliron-sranch.com/accomplishments.html). She is also a granddaughter of Rhett (ABCA382549) from Joan Mason has produced a lot of nice working dogs. He is a solid working dog and has a lovely temperament.
Motley has been removed as a breeding prospect at South Wind Stockdogs due to not hitting the standards set by myself. I do not feel like she is the best example of what a border collie should be because she only wants to work for herself. She also has barking issues in the home and I do not like a dog that barks as much as she does. Motley is not a neurotic barker, she has what I like to call "stranger danger," but to the point of where she will even bark at her own family members.
Motley's OFA's are pending but will be done as I feel it is important data to help improve our wonderful breed.
